NEWS

I participated in Ca$h for Clunkers. (I should have a bumper sticker for that)

Because I had no idea they'd euthanize my Durango. I didn't. I just thought it would be adopted by some cool college kid who would plop down a grand for a very well worn SUV with poor gas mileage and a strange, cheese-like odor.

I was so sad.

After my period of grief (five minutes) I got behind the wheel of my spankin' new car and...yeah what was that thing I used to drive? Because for the first time in years--WORKING A/C!!! And it was 92 today!

Wahoo.

Of course I'll have this car until I'm 50. Literally. (That's enough to pop anyone's balloon.) And since I haven't had a car payment in a long time, that's a bit of an ouchie, too. Still. Let us rejoice for windows that don't leak when it rains and a smooth ride--even at 70 mph!

On the where the freak has lisabea been? front: I went to my first writer's retreat this past weekend. It was daunting, of course, but I managed. I also brought a pound of chocolate, so I made friends easily. I spent the day with my new gal pal, KA Mitchell, and she's a sweetie. She's also sharp as a tack and she has a heart of gold. She rescued me after I took the very scenic route to the hotel. NO I didn't get lost. I'm naturally curious. I went sightseeing. I...was boldly going where no Lisabea had gone before.

You know, I sorta like losing my way and forging new paths-- it's just like writing! Because sometimes there's a Dunkin Donut's coffee and a friend to guide you home.

Aw. I'm so deep. Or I'm having you on because, dudes, I had no effing idea where I was.

Hey! Welcome back. I bet you had a great time at your retreat! More details, please.

So sorry about your car. I feel sentimental about our Intrepid, which DH has been threatening for some time now.

LBea! I've missed you!

So, um, what kind of car did you get?!

Glad the writers retreat went well. Smart thinking bring chocolate. It makes everyone want to be friends. Unlike, say tequila, that makes everyone want to be lovers. Or, maybe that should be the intent on Romance Writers Retreats...

CJ~Totally worth it if you need to get better gas mileage. I'm not as much of a gas mileage person as I am a safety nut and, uh, I need clearance and at the very least, all wheel drive. Lots of unpaved mountain roads with snow and ice, here. Lots of hauling the 'precious cargo' from school and practice. Need to
keep my beans safe.

Kati~Nissan Murano. Iz nice car. Very comfy. They didn't have blue, though, so I'll be wandering the parking lots trying to figure out which car is mine.

Tequila? We should put that on the list for next year's RWA room party. ;)

I traded in my old Explorer 3.5 months too early and missed out on the Cash for Clunkers. Waaaaah. It would've eaten up all my negative equity!

One of my customers sells Nissans and he loooves the Murano. Nice!!

And isn't working a/c lovely? :D Congrats.

Welcome back, congrats on the new car with working a/c and...

can I just say that I love the sign? That's so me. Which is why I never leave the house without a map, written instructions, and a cell phone.

And even then...

A writer's retreat? As in you went into the writer's cave and didn't see the light of day for the weekend?

Hmmm chocolate and dunkin donuts.

Sorry to hear about the death of your Durango but CONGRATS on the new Murano! Love those.

No working a/c???? Sounds like you got a new car just in time. As a menopausal female I can't imagine living in a car w/o A/C. I'd be in jail for committing several capital crimes.

I haven't watched TV in like forever and have been amazed by all the CASH FOR CLUNKERS ads. I almost had GG convinced he needed a new car.

Congrats on the new wheels! Both of our cars are almost hitting the teen years, so we've been thinking of doing the Cash for Clunkers, too. I'm glad it worked out for you.

For me a new car at 50 would mean 355 days. I guess I should start saving up. :)
