work work work

I'm here! I'm writing like the wind.

News for Fanyons!

I just asked my BFF Josh what the deal-y is with his upcoming books, because it's a freaking Lan-slide and even the most committed fan can't keep this stuff straight. My birthday is swiftly approaching and, well, there are presents to buy for myself.

Here's the list:

I Spy Something Wicked- October 29th (?!) That's TOMORROW.

Strange Fortune - November 5. YES! That's a NEW DATE. More news to follow on Friday. If you purchase this beautiful new fantasy novel within the first two weeks--you'll receive The Fanyon Fun Pack. (not actually the name of the gift bag--Uhm. Don't tell Josh. But consider this the unofficial Sweetbea stamp of approval )

Old Poison - November 24 The Sequel to Dangerous Ground. Very smexy book. Very hot. Very yum. Fast. And, er, that dude has a massive elbow.

The Dickens With Love - December 1 (G's birthday). A tasty Christmas treat coming from Samhain. I have news that this is a fun little book. Think: glow in the dark condoms.

The Dark Tide - December 22 Adrien V. It's my Christmas Wish and it's the book I've been waiting for all year. Way to drag out the suspense!

Work? Josh Lanyon redefines the word.

Catch Me and Stuff!

In my own writing life--I have the print edits to attend to for Happy Ending. I'm not sure of the release date. And I have some paper work to complete for Catch Me If You Can.

Would you like to see the tagline and blurb for Catch Me?

The fear of getting caught is half the fun.

Lowly art gallery assistant Caesar Romano is freely out of the closet. Now he’d just like to get out of his Nana’s guest room. Everything—his reputation and his financial freedom—is riding on the success of tonight’s gallery opening. If only he could shake free of the past so easily.

A mysterious gatecrasher, Dan Green, looks like a promising addition to his pending new life—until Caesar’s ex shows up and suddenly the opening disintegrates into a half-naked dance melee. When the glitter settles, a missing sculpture of Justin Timberlake has Caesar up to his eyebrows in extortion, intrigue and a wild sexual adventure underneath, inside, and on top of a variety of furnishings.

As the cast of suspects piles up, so do the questions. Like who’s really blackmailing whom. And what does a stolen paint-by-numbers clown matter when Dan is so outrageously capable of blowing Caesar’s resistance to smithereens?
IDK. I'm a smidge nervous. Release is March 16 from Samhain!

The last Men of Smithfield--which I'm calling 'the spring one'--has morphed from a silly romp into a flat out mystery. This was unintentional! I'm balancing keeping things fresh (every book should be different in the series) with keeping things familiar (every book should feel like Smithfield--or at least close to it). So it's funny, it's dark, it's sexy, it's violent, it's townie--it's The Men of Smithfield.

I'm 15 K in and I can feel it taking shape. That's the best part of writing--when things begin to gel. I'm shooting to have this one released in late January/early Feb. We'll see. I need to finish the rough draft first!

Halloween

Last but not least, littlegirl went to school today (they're doing the big 'fun day' today) dressed as a bumble bee. A slightly petulant, adorably thirteen year old, eighth grade, bumblebee. Her fuzzy suit is puffy and has a hood with antennae. Her toothpick legs stuck out of the bottom. She had black chucks on.

Yes. She was about as cute as it gets.

Happy Wednesday!
LB

You can imagine that I'm stoked.

You know, there's going to be an Adrien & Jake interview in that Fun Pack--the only place you can read it.

He's a smart cookie, that one is.

March 16th?!?! That's the day before my birthday. It's just like you to get me some HAWT M/M action for my birthday, LBea. You are a giver!

I thought for sure today we'd be seeing some commentary from you on your boyfriend Adam Lambert's new album cover. He's as pretty as a little girl. Prettier, some might say. And rockin' the guy liner.

Can't wait for all your smexy MM reads. :D

Kati~ I am a giver! I should post on AL's album cover. It reminds me of the KISS albums--when they all did their solo bit--or any other early 80's single male artist. Extreme close up and bad hair.

I luff him. (if that album sucks you guys are going to be mean to me, aren't you?)

Katiebabs~ Now if I could just finish writing the next one. I've been doing paper/email work all morning! Wah. But seeing you is a pleasure. And I love your post on RT. I...uhm....paid for an ad in Jan. Heh.

You have an ad in RT? Will it be your avi of Batman and Robin kissing?

I have to say I was shocked that the RT publisher wrote me back Pleasant surprise.

I joined up with a bunch of other folks through ARe. I'm not surprised at all that she contacted you. PR is huge huge huge. I'm not bitter about their stance, though. You know, baby steps. It'll happen, but some things happen slowly.

Um, I'll never know. Mostly because I hope to never, ever hear it.

But I promise to be no meaner to you than I am right now.

Thanks for all the Lanyon update! I had all his books with a vague "December" release date. Can't wait for Strange Fortune and Old Poison. And the new AE, of course!

And, look at you! I don't think JL is the only busy writer bee. Looking forward to Catch Me and MoS 4! :-)

I hope you took some pics of LG in her bee costume. At least petulant is fitting for a bee, right?

My kid wore his Darth Vader costume to a Halloween themed co-ed baby shower we went to last weekend. He was not too happy cause he was the only boy his age there. I just kept telling myself he was "role-playing" with his bad attitude to go with the Darth Vader costume. ;-)

aww look...lb is busy like a bee and lg is playing the part of one. heh.

Glad to hear you are still alive and kickin! And more to the point, writing! woot! funny, dark, sexy, violent...sounds like smithfield to moi. :)

Kati--You can run, but you can't hide from Adam Lambert.

Renee~Well that book isn't out today--so maybe my news isn't so good.

But yours is! Congrats on moving from cast to splint. Phew, right?

Every boy should get to be Darth Vader once--My Boy was Darth one year and his helmet made those terrible breathing noises. It was excellent.

Sula~Holy hell.Remember the blogging days of yore? What happened to our love???

I can't wait for many more tales of musty hot man sex. ;)

My knees go weak just looking at the release date of The Dark Tide...

Thanks for all the great news, my fellow Fanyon sweetie.

And congrats on the print form. hot guys should be on hot paper!

Catch Me If You Can sounds like wicked good fun, lb. I can't wait! And I just reread all The Men of Smithfield books. Seth is my fav. Can I say that? Of course, I haven't read the last one, yet.

Someone needs to take Mr. Lanyon in hand and hog-tie him. He's making we slow writers look bad. Shame on him. But of course, I can't wait for his new releases. :-)

My lg decided five minutes before we had to leave for school that she didn't want to be Scooby Doo for the school costume parade. She wanted to be a fairy. I had fairy wings. I threw together a fairy costume from odds and ends in about five minutes. You can tell she's my third. As long as she wasn't crying I didn't care what she wore.

Katiebabs--Musty Man Love. MMM.

thelastaerie--ME TOO. I am so excited--and that there interview? Priceless.

Sula--In a perfect world, we'd do a blog post together.

Samantha~Third child (I am one) gets the short end, no question. However--I like to think that we're more creative because sometimes, we have to be. I did make lg a Dorothy costume out of a gingham table clothe one year. I get the 'good mother' seal of approval on that one!
