It's been just over five months since BigGirl left for Central America. I miss her so much that sometimes it's a deep ache in my heart--the kind that makes you rub at your chest--and still it doesn't ease the emptiness.
And then she calls and asks for money. =)
BigGirl returns to the family fold toward the end of July--and after a few short weeks in CT-- she's off to school in Chicago. So...the entire family is preparing for Costa Rica. Mohammed/Mountain.
And how fantastic is this? My girl is going to be our guide & interpreter. She went to CR without a word of Spanish (okay, maybe she could sing that Hips Don't Lie song by Shakira--and order a burrito) and now she is fluent.
We have two activities planned while we're in CR--activities we tried for the first time when we were there last year and we are all eager to experience again. We'll spend three days on the Pacuare River and four days on the west coast in Tamarindo.
(Then it's back home for beans and rice and saving our pennies.)

This is not us. But you get the drift.
Witches Rock Surf Camp, Tamarindo Costa Rica
This is us last year.
Pacuare River Rafting and General Insanity.
That's what I'm thinking about right now. That and the end of the school year madness and the fear of not finishing this book in time. I'll be a bit scarce for a while.

*sends happy lucky book finishing thoughts*
Have a wonderful time! I was in CR 14 or 15 years ago and I absolutely loved it. I can't wait to hear about your trip when you're back and see all your pictures!
