I almost ordered a dozen cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes earlier today--before I lost my phone. And the tree fell across the road. And the power went out. And I missed that 'very important' conference call that G will ask me about later. And a friend acted like a giant douche. And then I realized it was MONDAY WITH A VENGEANCE so I went into town in my pj's to find internet and hot coffee and sugar. Life is good when there is hot coffee and internet (and sugar), even if you are in public with bed head and you're wearing your son's sweats and you're in tears because you're a cry baby.
Mmmmm....coffee.
1) Saturday I had lunch with KA Mitchell and it was spectacular. Also, I may or may not have had a sneak peek at the book she's working on. Heh. Let's just say that I am in awe.
2) Book sales are picking up! Thanks everyone! A million kisses!
3) Readers like Dudleytown! Here's a nice-nice from Goodreads (I don't look at reviews. Never. **cough**)
LB Gregg should get at least 2 awards for this story.
1) Most inappropriate, but perfectly placed sex scene. No lie, hands down. Fearing for the lives and dirty from all kinds of crud should not be a turn on. But somehow it works.
2) The Hail Mary of getaway plans. I don’t know if this was supposed to be funny or not, maybe its just my weird sense of humor. From the initial discussion to actual execution of the plan, I could see it in my head. The only thing that kept them on track was how desperate they were for it to work. I bet they are all glad Alex played Squash in high school.
So how could I be anything but cheerful when I find that my book worked for readers? Thanks Jaele. :)

4) MOST EXCITING NEWS TO DATE!!!
I'll be in Germany from November 28-Dec 4th. No. I'm not going there to stalk my new secret gay boy friend Dennis Grabosch**. G has things to do--and because he'll be away on his birthday (again) I'm going with him on this business trip.
Germany! Squee! G donated his Rosetta Stone German to me. The man believes in miracles. I believe in the power of German Television to teach me everything I need to know.
Photo proof that I am not stalking Dennis G.
5)And let's not forget that Meljean Brook's The Iron Duke made PW's list for Best books of 2010. YAY MJB!!!!
Hope you all have a Monday filled with bright things! Like electric lights. For example.
:)

~snuggles~ Monday was monday here too. :( Chris and I have a blanket fort ready and its got room for another. :) We have wireless already installed. :)
~smooches~
SUCH a Monday. My car's in the shop busily not starting for them either and I had to sit staring blankly at my cube walls for an hour (at 6:30 am) because my network password expired while I was on vacation and no one was here to reset it.
*fluffs blanket fort for company*
*starts coffee*
*orders sugary treats*
Try again for the cupcakes. They always work for me. Especially mini ones.
I mean, cupcakes are already miniature cakes. But something about making miniature cakes squared... well that is just plain awesome.
Bunny trail done. :D
I have a major case of the Mondays. I so need a cupcake pick-me-up. But then I guess I should be proud I wrote 8k words yesterday. *yawn* so tired.
Yep, cupcakes sound good to me too.
Can I book a place in the blanket fort? I'll bring cookies :)
Ooooh, Germany! For a time Lil' Sis was hoping Super Genius brother-in-law was going to land a job there - but alas, not to be. He did have an interview though and she tagged along. Now Lil' Sis was all keen to practice her German (she took it in college) but almost everywhere they went, the German folk were like, "Oh, you're American? Can I practice my English on you?" LOL
Have a beer in my honor will ya? 'Tis one of the lands of my ancestors (American mutt, I iz one).
Jason, Chris, Jenre--
I luff you all. Can we watch AWZ in the blanket fort? Maybe just the old ones with the red couch and the making out? Yes?
Chris I hope the car is better!
Sweet Vernal Zephr--
Two thumbs up to miniature cupcakes squared.
Katiebabs--
Your nano month is off to a helluva start. I have 50 words. For the month.
Wendy--
I'll always lift a glass to/for you. :)
The car is getting a brain transplant. *sigh*
You forgot to say that you chatted with me on your 'good things that did happen to me on this Monday' list. And I was making extra Tracy's lack of driving skills for you too. :(
B-b-brain transplant? That sounds expensive.
**passes gluten free snack to Chris**
Kris~
Thank you for chatting with me. **sniffles**
My phone died in the MIDDLE of your MUCH APPRECIATED text diversion, fyi. Dumb phone. Caesar and I are both thinking about getting an iPhone.
You are a good banana. But no more Bubba Gump for you, missy.
*nibbles and sniffles and nods*
OK, well I'm reading this on Tuesday, but it feels like Monday here.
Germany! Yay! Get a Rick Steve's Germany before you go. His books are amazing!
Little late to the party -- hope your Tuesday was better than your Monday. Belated hugs. My Monday wasn't bad. Physical therapy was okay. I'm walking with a cane now.
The most exciting thing for me that day was our next door neighbor coming over to tell us she'd seen a bobcat in her backyard. (We live in the suburbs, in a development.) Here was my take on it: http://neyronrose.livejournal.com/191812.html
You will have to tell us all about your trip to Germany. So ironic that you never wanted to go there before you started watching Alles was zählt. Now you'll be looking for the cracky daydream sparkles, like they show on TV.
Wait, I'm sorry. I know I'm late to the party but while I was killing myself showing Kris the sights she was texting you on my horrible driving skills? Oh man is she in trouble when she lands! lol And she just told me she was giving you an update! lol
Ok - cupcakes make the world of difference in life no matter what you're doing or where you are - just sayin!
KA Mitchell was so nice when I met her at Yaoi-con! Just a wonderful person.
Book sales up? Woohoo! *throw confetti*
Jaele is SO right on her thoughts of Dudleytown. LOVED it.
Germany - my sister loved it when she lived there. You can eat lots of schnitzel. Who needs Rosetta Stone when you can say schnitzel?
Adored The Iron Duke. So good - YAY MJB indeed!
Emilie~Your post was wonderful! I've not had any bobcats here in the yard, although I saw one a few weeks ago when I was driving (near Dudleytown). Sucker ran across the road. It took as a few seconds to realize what we'd seen. We have a lot of fox and coyotes here. Rarely do I see the coyotes, but I hear them. Scary.
I would like cracky daydream sparkles. Those would be nice. I'm just glad that the kids are set enough that I can travel for a week with G AND that I can tag along on his birthday.
:)

Tracy~I thought she was going to text photos! No? Well, the Live Long and Proper one was perfect. :)
lol I'll send you photos of our adventures. :)
