::paperbag::
We're packed and ready and tomorrow, at oh-dark-thirty, G and I take our boy to college in fucking North Carolina. North. Carolina. That's, like, a long way away from Smithfield, fyi. 800 miles, give or take a detour around DC. That's thirteen hours in a car (plus traffic) or two flights home for Thanksgiving.
What in the name of hell was I thinking?
I know I'm going to horrify and humiliate him when I cling like a monkey mommy as we leave. G will have to peel me off the poor kid. I'm going to need to breathe into a paper bag as we wave bye-bye from the rental car. And I fully intend to drink, er, eat my feelings on the flight(s) home.
I'm too young to have two kids in college.
Have a great week, everyone! Wish us luck.

WAY too young. Come on, fess up--did you steal those kids?
j/k...looooove yooouuu
Have fun in NC! I hear it's gorgeous. I'm jealous. Go say hi to Ally and Sam for me, and ogle some cute guys if you end up near Asheville.
I'll be in Asheville--the school is right on the edge of town. Hopefully Ally and I can meet up on this trip. If not this one--then the next time. I am determined to see Ms. Blue.
Sam's too far away. DRAT.
Thanks Jen.
Good luck! Oh, if you and Ally meet up, there must be photos. :)
What happens in Asheville, stays in Asheville.
I thought all your kids were in college. Heh.
:P
Frownie face.
Definitively too young :) But it's good to have your kids young :) and you'll still have the little one at home no? :)
Good luck with the trip. Good luck to the boy in college, too. I was at the MLR reading/book signing at Giovanni's Room in Philadelphia, and Ally Blue signed some books for me. I met several other authors, too. It's in my Friday LJ entry.
OMG the boy's in COLLEGE?? When the hell did that happen? He was just...younger. lol
I'm sure it was traumatic but I hope you made it through ok. {{big hug}}
I'm with Jen - you totally stole those kids.
Also, I have great sympathy for you since TG just started high school. It isn't too many years until I'm doing this.
Having said that, your PS made me laugh out loud. I heart you.
Nath--Well I call her 'littlegirl' but she's 15 and a half. She's my BABY.
Emilie-- I wanted to go to the reading! I'm so glad you went. Ally is a doll. Did you meet James? James is good people.
Tracy--It's so weird. He called me yesterday and asked: If I come home with long dreadlocks, will you still love me? I said--I'll always love you. No tattoos. No piercings.
Heh.
Holly--I wondered if anyone caught that PS.
You're too young to have a kid in high school. =P
