I'm down to one post a month. Yikes.
So. Where is LB? Working on a pesky new short story. I know that I should be writing Ce & Dan (Sasha please don't read my blog), and believe me, I'm plotting and planning and cackling away--but the book that wants to be written now? It's a bit...salty. And sunny. Jack Walker and Dylan Hayes should make an appearance sometime toward the end of this year, God willing. If I can't whine hard enough (or write faster) they'll find a spot at the beginning of next year.
Also--currently revamping
my website. We'll see how that works out. ;)

With the new house on hold (a topic I refuse to discuss--but HALF of my belongings are packed and I am living in boxes) G and I are ignoring our real life situation and instead, we're training for a bike ride through Tuscany. This new (next?) madness is a combination 22year anniversary, graduation, another graduation, and a I-hate-living-in-boxes trip. 30-40 miles per day through the Italian country side and I've barely ridden five miles in the last two years. So the yoga? The spinning? The fifteen pound weight loss? All part of G's plan to kill me. I mean, G's plan to take us to Italy and force us to walk around in public while wearing maxi pad lined shorts. I'm totally stoked.
And my RT update, weeks over due, is that RT was a great success. I count reconnecting with friends, making new friends, and eating a lot of garlic fries as successful. Some highlights of my first few days include my first look at the high desert hills covered in actual GREEN vegetation, cocktails and dinner with Jen from Samhain, and drinking a few cosmos with Kristin Daniels and Mari Freeman.
Low light? Why was the eBook Expo was held between 4-6pm in downtown LA on a Friday?
After the expo, Rosie searched
Amber Eats LA for a cool place to catch a quick bite away from the hustle/bustle and the mediocre restaurants inside the hotel. We went to a LA landmark--The Pantry. THANK YOU AMBER, ROSIE AND THE SO CAL BLOGGERS. It was both an adventure and a pleasure and I always love spending time with
Lori,
Nikki,
Rosie,
Tracy,
Renee, and
Holly. Much laughter ensued. We had pulled pork, mountains of creamy coleslaw, and plates of fries. NOM NOM NOM.
Plus the waiter groped me.
On Saturday,
James Buchanan and I lunched at a fantastic Mexican restaurant on
Olvera Street. Sangria, live music, and shopping for Teddypig were part of our afternoon activities--and I bought an attractive and functional serape.

Colleen Gleason, Lorelei James, Beth Williamson, and LB Gregg.
Note my fabulous serape.
I loved my serape so much that I wore it fancy to the bar (see above) and then I slept in it on the red-eye back home. Win/Win. Thank you James. :)
And as always, the best part of the week was spending time with my gal pal, Rosie. We ordered oatmeal via room service, talked about books and blogging and writing--we drank cosmos and gin and blabbed with our favorite friends. We made a brand new friend,
Beth Kery, we coveted the shoes of Julie James, and we got to see Angela James climb across a couch yelling Rosie! Rosie!
Now RT is over and done, and RWA is on the horizon. I have a trip to plan, two graduations, and an entire book to write. Happy Spring everyone!
Get on your bikes and ride!
