Wait! Oh no! I think I lost a contact!
Do you think he could find it for me????

Silly me. I don't even wear contacts.
I've got two video clips for you. The first is one of my family's fav. movies for the season. I found this clever montage set to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. That's always fun. I adore Ralphy, his parents, his little brother, the official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model BB rifle with a compass in the stock, and the nostalgia of America in the 1940's. Good stuff.
The second I simply couldn't resist. Two good tastes wrapped together! Mariah Carey & O Holy Night. I'm a sucker for both. And with Mariah in that Jessica Rabbit dress belting it out in that ittle wittle church? It's perfection. I can't tell if she's taking herself too seriously (her? really?) or not. But either way,it's da bomb.

At some point those will indeed appear. They promised.
Phew. That lisabea, huh?
I noticed that many of the blogs around town have holiday recipes included and, not to be outdone, plus because I have to make these with the kids today, I'm posting the best, easiest, kid friendly recipe I have. I've got to avoid eating them, but I will make them.
Everyone seems to call these
Buckeyes, right? I bet you do, too.
1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
1/4 Cup Butter softened
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 Cups Confectioners' Sugar
1/2 Cup Flour
1 Cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips, Melted
You know where I'm going with this. Line 2 cookie sheets with wax paper. Beat pb, butter, and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Gradually beat in xxx's sugar and flour until blended well. Roll into balls and put them on the cookie sheet. Refrigerate for an hour. Spear 1 ball at a time with a toothpick (or skewer). Dip into melted chocolate, about 1/2 way. Cover toothpick hole with and artistic dab of melted chocolate. Cover and refrigerate. These are f/n awesome and your kids will eat them until they're sick. So, um, that's probably not a good idea. I dole them out in pairs. Ours look like the picture, except we add a dashing squiggle on the tip. I believe in the movie Amadeus they were called Nipples of Venus, no?
With the cookies one has to have a story. This is my kids all time numero uno favorite book for the holidays. I've read it more times than I've read Dreaming of You, Dead to the World, my JR Ward's (damn her), my Meljean's, and all my Suzanne Brockmann's combined. Times two. I've read it a LOT. And I still love it.
OK it's really late, I'm punchy, I'm sleeping in today and I'll add those videos sometime later. Chow.
