Book Signing~Suze Brockmann

Lisabea meets Suze!!
Look at what a shrimp I am. In a moment of unparallelled smoothness,
I gasped: Man, you're tall. Yes. I did.

Obviously I went to the book signing at the Borders in Fairfield last night. It was a bit of a hike, but I wanted to go. Boy, that Suze Brockmann is awfully nice. She had a lot of energy, answered any and all questions, and was gracious to the other guest author, Anne Elizabeth (also very sweet). Pretty cool, considering how successful she is and what an utter pill some big names get to be. I bullied to the front of the line (long drive+kid with science project=line jumper) and reminded her that, yes, I am a blogger (whoop-die doo) and that we had emailed this week. *dies of embarrassment* So, Suze signs my book : Thanks for the terrific blog. You Rock! (I was a grinning fool over that) and my Max and Gina (classic), Breaking Point, Max says Hi....aw shucks she's nice. She had me at hello.

The evening ended with a raffle and I won a book: Scenes of a Passion, which I can't remember if I've read.

The most interesting part of the evening, for me, was finding out that Suze and,I guess her people (?), have been approached by Logo to do a movie of All Through the Night. Which makes me wonder:

WHO WILL PLAY THESE DUDES????

  • Jules
  • Robin
  • Max
  • Sam
  • Jones

Let me know what you think.

In the mean time, for you fans of the Brockmann series who have yet to read All Through the Night, I just want to tell you: do it. It delivered what I felt was missing from Force of Nature: closure to the Jules/Robin arc. I think most fans of the Trouble Shooter series would agree that we wanted Jules to star in his own book because, face it, we adore him. He's this wonderful side kick, adoring friend, and a dependable, strong, ass-kicking FBI agent who saves the day for Max, for Sam, for Robin, for Cosmo, etc... Wicked funny and fabulously out, Jules is at peace with who he is...well except the Adam/Robin thing. My very favorite Jules moment is in Breaking Point, when Max finds out that Gina is not dead and Jules is the stand up friend that Max needs. I had hoped that Force of Nature would be his book. Alas, it was not to be. Force of Nature left me in a weird spot about Robin and Jules' relationship because Robin was literally on a pass from rehab and I don't know how Happy my HEA was for Jules. Trust and Love and All that Happy Shit didn't make me any more comfortable with Robin's addiction issues. But this "novella" (not, cuz it's twice the word count of an actual novella. And thank you Suzanne for that!), All Through the Night, delivers the closure I wanted. Sweetly. It defines Happily. Ever. After.
